How I maintain my bread knife?

To preserve the sharpness of your blade, we recommend working on a wooden board. Hard surfaces such as glass, ceramic and marble can damage your blade.

Secondly, it is very important to NEVER immerse or put your bread knife in the dishwasher as this will cause it to warp and the blade to rust. If you want to clean it, you can use a damp cloth for the wooden handle. For the blade we advise you to use a damp sponge with a mild soap. Let the blade dry and then coat it with a thin layer of edible oil.

It is important to know that the blade of your knife is made of carbon steel. It is therefore normal that it oxidizes over time. However, the oxidation is only aesthetic, it will not affect the edge of the blade. If you want to give your blade a new look, we suggest you use a little vinegar and baking soda that you apply to the blade with a small abrasive sponge.
